MY BROTHER JIM
Just around the corner lives my brother Jim, You see… Jim's' not only my brother he's my life long friend.
It seems the days flash by and the months rush on, And before you know it, another year is gone
And I never get to see my old friend's face, 'Cause life is such a swift and demanding race, It chews us up and leaves so little time, but…hey
He knows I love him just as well, As in the days when I rang his bell, And he rang mine.
So long ago… we were much younger then, but now… we're busy, tired old men. Tired of playing all those foolish games, Even tired of trying to make a name.
"Tomorrow" I say, "I'll call old Jim" and let him know I'm thinking about him." But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes, And Time and distance grows and grows.
Just around the corner! Yet one more day. Just around the corner! Yet miles away. Knock ! Knock ! YES ? "Here's a telegram sir-"
……………My old friend and Brother Jim died today.
And he didn't even get a chance to tell me he was going away.
Maybe that's what we get -- even deserve in the end. Just around the corner, another vanished friend.
If you love someone, tell them RIGHT NOW ! always remember to say it somehow. Don't ever be ashamed to express your soul. Cause, bottom line…old man death is gonna take his toll.
And just around the corner… like my brother, Jim,
Just around the corner, you'll be that old friend.
